We've already been having lots of fun on HEART Zones this week! Many of our activities are tied in with our inquiry topic, which is fairytales. This week we are focusing on Jack and the Beanstalk. In these photos you can see Kotuku enjoying listening to fairytales on the ipads, using new puzzles, making books, making beanstalks out of playdough and counting beans.
Today Ayah and Rosie made Wigram Primary School out of blocks. They included the playground, classrooms and pipes.
We had such an amazing trip to the Airforce Museum yesterday. The children from Kotuku enjoyed a scavenger hunt around the museum, finding various items and a session with Chris, the museum educator. Big thank you to our parent helpers who came on the trip.

This term, we are going to have an inquiry focus on flight. We'll be learning about lots of things to do with planes, flight, airports, runways, positional language and the mechanics of flying. To kick us off, we made some paper planes in Kotuku and took them outside to see how they flew. Today we will use this as inspiration for our writing. Check out our photos!
This week we started our Maths programme in Kōtuku. We had a lot of fun getting our brains back into numbers mode. We did lots of skip counting, addition practice and even learnt some new games! Check out some of our highlights
This week we have been learning about how to look after our iPads. We will do lots of learning wth our iPads this year, so it's important we know how to look after them.
