Day 9 of lockdown. The Light House Keeper's lunch by Sharlah

After we watched the Light House Keeper’s lunch video today, I made a picture story of the book.  We used paper cups for the Light House and the white cottage on the cliffs, blue paper for the ocean and I made three seagulls and  a rainbow cloud.   A jet plane is flying over the top.  I made a red boat too…  every morning Mr Grinling rowed the boat to the light house from the white cottage.   In the morning Mr Grinling’s wife made his lunch and put it in a basket   There was a flying fox to take his food to the lighthouse but something terrible happened!   Three happy seagull’s ate Mr Grinling’s lunch until Mrs Grinling put mustard in them.  The next time they didn’t go to the basket, they went to fisherman’s picnic basket while he was fishing and couldn’t see them!  And one of the naughty seagulls said “tomorrow, we’ll eat from this picnic basket again!”.   Mr Grinling was watching from his telescope and he enjoyed his lunch that day and all of the good days!!

At night time he  rowed his boat to the white cottage to see his wife and go to sleep.

There is a handle that turns around to make one of the seagulls and a jet and the cloud go up and down.

I used a hot glue gun to stick most of the things in place.  I really enjoyed doing this.

The End.

  1. Wow Sharlah, this is amazing! You have gone above and beyond with your creation about the Lighthouse Keeper. It must've taken you a long time. My favourite part is the red and white lighthouse out of paper cups. I'm pleased Mr Grinling got his lunch in the end :)

  2. You are an amazing inventor Sharlah. I love the way your picture is in 3D. It must be so much fun at your house this week. I'm a bit jealous. Keep up the cool ideas.

  3. Hi Sharlah (and Jan)
What a fabulous creation you have made, well done. It looks like a lot of work and a lot of fun.
You have retold the story so well too. Putting mustard in the sandwich would stop me from eating it!
I hope you have a happy weekend.
